The angry dog,
that ivory fang,
that sticky froth,
with crinkled lip
with hackles high,

spit its fear,
heat and stench,
at the butterfly
blessing a breeze
with flutter

and weave,
its tired flight,
a ribbon wrapped
around the verdant stalks,
the silken blooms.
