Child

The blogstress at Impromptu Promptlings has offered a simple challenge. She wants to know what makes you happy.

Here’s a very simple response, a simple image/thought that makes me happy.

Image result for acorn shells

Child

She’s pries
the shell
from each acorn,
arranges them

in parallel rows
that stretch
from the yellow mums
to the birdbath,

a cobblestone street
where she imagines
weary sprites
will rest silver wings,

astride the benevolence
of chipmunks,
and find their
way home.
