Harvest – National Poetry Month – Day 19

Today, I’ve been challenged to “take on one (or both) of the following prompts:

  • Write a cool poem. Or…
  • Write a uncool poem.”

I don’t know if the poem I share here possesses any worth, but it meets the challenge, and, today, I’m pressed for time.

———-

Harvest

Black turtles
cluster
on the crowns

of stones
rising
from the water

like the skulls
of dead dragons
to harvest

the sun,
to melt
the cold

that thickens
and chokes
their blood.
