Do any of you have children?
Blessing for My Children
May the day
that spills
through the weave of branches
above us, tangled,
the fingers of a pentitent
old man,
may its light
settled in your eyes
so the shadows
that haunt the edge
of your thoughts
will scatter as you
step near, retreat
into the trees,
a frightened
dim of drab birds.
I can see how you’d be very good at writing blessings. Ever read Anam Cara by John O’Donohue or anything by Jan Richardson? A lot of their writings are blessings for people and things and experiences and events.

You mean like A Blessing For My Son? Follow your gut. It serves you well. You can find examples of John O’Donohue’s blessings on the internet. I have his book “To Bless the Space Between Us” and it’s all blessings.
This is one of my favorites of his: http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/547117-beannacht-blessing-on-the-day-when-the-weight-deadens

That worked out well. Blessings are gifts to give folks for birthdays, anniversaries, or just for the heck of it. That’s what they are. A gift. It worked well.
