Often, on Sunday mornings, while sipping coffee, contemplating what to write, I listen to music: Beethoven, Mozart, Greig, Wagner, etc. This morning, I listen to a Bach conerto that features wriitem for a harpsichord.
“A harpsichord is a musical instrument played by means of a keyboard. It produces sound by plucking a string when a key is pressed. “Harpsichord” designates the whole family of similar plucked keyboard instruments, including the smaller virginals, muselar, and spinet.”
Here’s a link that will usher you to Bach himself; well, it will take you to a web page where you can listen to Harpsichord Concerto No. 1, BWV 1052. Today, the concerto is often played on a piano.
Like rain –
the piano pulses,
drops of rain:
pulse, panic –
the savage rain.
