A Cheesy Brick of Sunshine

Now and then, my wife sends me a text message, a request to grab some milk, maybe some eggs, on the way home from work. Here’s a play on text messages and grocery requests.

Text Message

We need
a block
of cheese.

Nothing white
or milky.
It reminds

me of soap.
The yellow
kind – like a banana.

Or orange.
The kind
that shines:

a brick
of morning
sun. Get that.

This post is partly inspired by a WordPress Daily Prompt. The prompt reads, “What commonly accepted truth (or “truth”) do you think is wrong, or at least seriously doubt?  Why?”  Text messages, often poorly written, can be poetic!!
