Rusted and Angry

The green fish,
wide eyed,
tucked between
the tall weeds,
will forget
the hook, rusted
and angry,
that split
its lip,
the terrible
tug toward
the light.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Forward Drive.” Today, I really want to go fishing.

  1. How interesting. My son would say no, that the fish have little or no feeling unless the hook goes too deep and has to be pulled out (if you’re a catch and release person). Don’t know if that’s true or not. Elizabeth Preston over at At The Foot Of The Sierras has talked him into using barbless hooks, however. Oh! You weren’t REALLY wanting to know, were you! LOL 😕 ^^’

Say something!! Please?
