Where the Chicory Blooms

Inspite of my last post, here’s a poem.

Summer Storm

I mourn
for the green
leaf that,

in the wind,
loses its hold
on the branch

it suckles,
that will

and brown,
in the tall grass

where the chicory blooms,
never knowing
autumn’s gold.

  1. Goodness. I’ve run into more than a few people today who seem to be in a kind of pensive mood. Is something going around like the flu? Despite the sadness of it, it’s a beautiful poem…

      1. I’m doing great thanks summers.I’m in bergen community college taking drafting & designing. It’s still good to see these poems you come up with. I’ll be sure to continue to support your wordpress
